DevMeter Is Now Officially Stable on Open VSX
We're excited to announce that **DevMeter is now fully stable and up-to-date on the [Open VSX Registry](https://open-vsx.org/extension/DevMitrza/devmeter)**! 🎉
If you've been using Open VSX-compatible editors like **VSCodium**, **Gitpod**, **Eclipse Theia**, or any other editor that pulls from the Open VSX marketplace — you can now install DevMeter and get the exact same experience as users on the official VS Code Marketplace.
What Happened?
Some of you may have noticed that the version on Open VSX was stuck at **v0.0.6** while the VS Code Marketplace was already on **v0.2.x**. This was caused by a **namespace verification issue** on the Open VSX Registry — our publisher identity wasn't properly linked, which meant new versions weren't being accepted.
We've since:
1. ✅ **Claimed and verified** the `DevMitrza` namespace on Open VSX
2. ✅ **Fixed our CI/CD pipeline** to publish to both marketplaces simultaneously
3. ✅ **Published v0.2.5** — fully in sync with the VS Code Marketplace
What This Means for You
For Existing Open VSX Users
If you installed DevMeter from Open VSX before this fix, your extension was running an outdated version (v0.0.6). Here's what to do:
1. **Update your extension** — Open your editor's extension panel and check for updates. You should see v0.2.5 available.
2. **Re-enter your API key** if prompted — The update includes significant improvements to how we connect to the DevMeter API.
3. **Enjoy the new features** — You'll now have access to everything: the improved status bar, smart editor detection, streak tracking, and more.
What's New in v0.2.5?
Since v0.0.6, we've shipped a ton of improvements:
